General Lloyd Austin: A Legacy of Leadership and Service

General Lloyd Austin is a distinguished U.S. Army Four-Star General, known for his remarkable leadership and dedication to serving his country. He made history as the first African American to be appointed Secretary of Defense, overseeing the Department of Defense since 2021.

Salute To Duty is a World Leader in Military Appreciation Lapel Pin Marketing. Our lapel pin marketing brand is identified by the distinct design of the American Flag on the left, which represents the Freedoms Americans enjoy under the Constitution, while the Camouflage Flag on the right, represents the brave men and women who took "The Oath" to defend those Freedoms. The color combination of the Camouflage Flag represents the causes and themes being marketed.

The organization's endeavors are to serve the community, our country, and all USMA graduates.

Naming a Service Dog After General Austin

In honor of U.S. Army Four-Star General Lloyd Austin, the first African American U.S. Secretary of Defense, a Service Dog will be named “Austin” — a symbol of strength, leadership, and unwavering service to country.


This special initiative is led by Do More Together, in partnership with Salute To Duty, as part of the 22 Service Dogs for 22 Veterans campaign.


🎯 The goal: Fully fund the training and placement of this Service Dog by August 8th, General Austin’s birthday.

On the the 22nd of each month, people are asked to wear their Salute To Duty Military Appreciation Lapel Pin as it serves as a visible symbol of a commitment to bringing awareness to the unfortunate fact that approximately 22 Veterans are "Lost to Suicide" each day, and the relentless mission to fund life-saving Service Dogs...which are essential for those Veterans battling PTSD.
